RPG Maker XP (RMXP) scripts, tutorials

RMXP is the successor of RM2k3 (the most famous j-rpg making software). With bigger resolution, 640 x 480, RMXP will surely take your RPG experience to the extremes. This fourth PC version of Enterbrains RPG maker series gives a promising future for RPG makers. It uses Ruby Gaming Script System, RGSS, that will surely pack all the scripting stuff you'll ever need. With its script support, you can do almost everything in making a game (Say goodbye to lengthy events). On top of that, RMXP supports any graphics extension such as PNG, BMP, and JPEG. This will surely satisfy all you eye candy RPG fans out there.

The downside maybe in RMXP is its default battle system which is a front battle, its very stationary, only the graphic of your battlers will move. But you can always change the battle system, like I mention before, you can almost do anything with the game because of its RGSS.

You can buy or test its trial here:

RPG Maker VX (rmvx)

RPG Maker VX or RMVX is the newest RPG Maker in Enterbrain in the PC. It has a lot of improvements compared to its older version, RMXP. RMVX uses rgss2 or ruby gaming script system 2, which has more capabilities than the old rgss.

The graphical interface of vx was highly customized to suit the user-friendly needs. If you are a fan of rpg maker series in pc you will notice that RMVX has a lot of similarities with its predecessor rm2k3 (rpg maker 2003).

The only downside I see in this newest version is its mapping system. Its very simple and cheesy, not to mention you can only use 4 layers with it and you can't change the tilesets.
